Hello How can I add an Ik controller on the hip to my Umotion rig currently its taking the hip as the parent, is there a way to add a hip ik controller so i dont need to adjust the legs and upper body each time like in advanced skeleton or any IK rig ?

thank you

Hi,
thank you very much for your support request.

I think what you are looking for is IK Pinning of the feet. When enabled, the feet stay at the same place even when moving the hips. When IK Pinning is disabled, the feet are moving with the hips.

When using the IK Setup Wizard, IK Pinning is automatically setup for you. For completeness, here are the related video tutorials:

Please let me know if you meant something different.

Best regards,
Peter

yes thanks you that is exactly what I was looking for, also is it possible to add smear with Umotion or I have to do it via a 3rd party plugin? or a shader?

https://www.reddit.com/r/Unity3D/comments/4r1bgh/someone_made_a_smear_effect_shader_for_unity/

what do you think is the best approach? because I was thinking of getting this shader and adding it on the arm and activating it via code the on the frames of attack for example

For the smear effect simply use Boing Kit! That tool has such integration! I bought it too and it has booth - your desired effect and bone based wobbling, like magica cloth! However the smear effect is a vertex based effect that Boing Kit has! I am not sure if it works through the shader, but the look is the same as in your video and the setup is just a script, as far as I remember. Give it a try or better ask the developer, before you spend money. But I am pretty sure that is it. https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/particles-effects/boing-kit-dynamic-bouncy-bones-grass-and-more-135594

Would you please help me and give me a short step by step tutorial how to setup the IK hips? The videos just confuse me, because an IK arm setup is for me something completely different then the IK hip setup. Idk if I am too dumb to follow or not, but I tried everything, and my logic stops at some point. And all the talking in the video doesn't help me to understand how to setup the hips, working the same as with unity's rigging package.

Doing this in a shader sounds reasonable (also from a performance perspective). UMotion does not offer something like that out of the box.

Peter
