Motion Paths

Anonymous 3 years ago updated by Peter - Soxware Developer 1 year ago 6

Hello,

Is there a feature like Motion Paths in Blender or Trajectories in 3DSMax?

This feature is very useful. I really hope UMotion has it.

UMotion Version:
1.24
Unity Version:
2019.4.17

Hi,
thank you very much for your support request.

Unfortunately UMotion does not support motion paths. I've took a note on my "ideas for the future" list but can't promise anything as of right now.

Please let me know in case you have any follow-up questions.

Best regards,
Peter

Thanks for your reply. I'm looking forward to it!

Hi Peter,

Did you had the chance to work on this ? Motion Path + IK workflow sounds like a real killer. Especially for animation editing and variations. (while not forgeting proportional editing as well)

Best

There are currently no immediate plans for such a feature, I'm sorry. It's logged on my list but I can't promise on if and when it's going to be released.

Best regards,
Peter

No issue, I'm pretty eager to use this in my workflow.
UMotion is a very practical tool because it can edit any animation and rig for unity regardless of the rig and the original editing software. Blender can't say the same.

I'm currently recoding a runtime version of Motion path in order to use it with Final IK. Right now I'm simply sampling the animation and creating a curve from the interesting nodes and then plug an IK effector to this curve. It does work but it's pretty rough atm.

If you want, you can try to do the same within UMotion by using the UMotion API: https://www.soxware.com/umotion-manual/UMotionAPI.html
