How to inverse a pose?

Anonymous 5 years ago updated 1 year ago 10

I select all the bones then press "copy to otherside", this does the inverse for the arms and the legs but not for the chest rotation. Is there a solution to automatically do this or do I have to do it manually?

Hi,
thank you very much for your support request.

Yes, copy to other side only works for bones that have a sibling at another branch of the bone hierarchy. There is currently no way to mirror single bones. I might add such a feature in a future version of UMotion.

If you want to mirror a whole animation, you can do this in the Inspector of the exported humanoid animation (select the *.anim file and in the inspector enable "mirror").

Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Best regards,
Peter

This mirroring of single bones would be a super welcomed addition.

I'm struggling hard to create some cool looking animations for walking/ running without the ability to completely mirror a pose (in Blender I'd just copy the pose and hit CTRL + SHIFT + V to instantly paste it mirrored).

Please do consider adding it if you didn't yet.

I too really want mirroring a pose feature.

I thought UMotion Pro certainly has often-to-use this feature, but not...

ill third that mirror of pose would be very helpful also if poss in the future would be the ability to copy a pose and save it

This would still be a very needed feature in a pro 3D animation toolset. Please let us know if this is on the road map for implementation.

I second that!
Just mirroring a clip in the inspector does not allow you to modify and tweak your animation for a specific purpose on the other hand e.g.
Maybe with the new custom buttons and custom scripts one could copy every frame to the other side in a loop?

I've took a note to expose the "copy to other side" functionality to the UMotion API in a future update.

One could do this in a second step. First enable the mirror toggle in the *.anim inspector, then import the animation in UMotion, then tune it.

That sounds awesome!

any updates on this feature? i use animator overrides and the "mirror" option in unity is not an option for me

This would be an incredible addition to this software
