Tips on Organizing UMotion Projects?

Sean W 4 years ago updated 4 years ago 2

Does anyone have any tips they'd like to share on how they organize their UMotion projects, as well as how they organize the clips within their UMotion projects?

Hi Sean,

from my perspective (as the developer of UMotion) the intended way to organize projects is (one per character). If you have like 30 or more animation clips, it might be a good idea to split them into multiple UMotion projects for the same character (for better loading performance when opening the project in UMotion).

It's usually also a good idea to have "atomic" animation clips. What I mean by that is that you create them in the shortest form needed in game (instead of combining several animations into one clip).

Please let me know if you want to know anything in more detail.

Best regards,
Peter

Thanks! I was curious what to do about having a lot of animations and if there were any negative consequences of having a lot, so your comment about splitting one character's anims into multiple projects is helpful.
