Greetings, just started using Umotion (Think its great! :D) but I'v ran into a slight bug, when using unity's new lwrp, When editing a animation and scrubbing though the time line ,the models mesh's jitters, same when playing the animation in the editor.

once exporting the animation it works perfect so i don't mind, I'v tested it in a version of unity with out lwrp and it works fine.

just was curious if there was a fix for this, as i said i don't really mind it but it would be nice if it didn't jitter

Hi Jquirky,
thank you very much for your bug report. I really appreciate that.

I have tried to verify this issue using the UMotion Examples in Unity 2018.3.8f1, LWRP 4.10.0 and UMotion V1.17p02 on a Windows 10 computer but I couldn't notice any jitter.

  1. What operating system are you using and which version of Unity?
  2. Does this issue also happen for you when using the example UMotion projects with Robot Kyle in the example scene? If it only happens with your specific model, please send me a Unity project that contains only the things I need to reproduce this issue (i.e. the model, without textures if desired and the UMotion Project) via the email support form.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

My PC spec is:

  • CPU - Threadripper 2950x (AMD)
  • GPU - RTX 2070 (drivers up to date)
  • OS - Windows 10

I just created a new 2018.3.11f1 project using the latest LWRP 4.10.0 and tested with the latest version of Umotion pro. and used robot kyle example to demonstrate,

where when i create a project with 2018.3.11f1 and no LWRP using the same version of Umotion pro there is no jittering.

If you need any more info please let me know :)

Side note I'v been messing around with the project to see if i could find any more info, and I'v found out as soon as you take Scriptable render pipeline asset out the Graphics setting slot, the jitter stops, (but ofc the lwrp also stops)

Quick update I figured out a work around, when the camera is selected it works fine 100% of the jitter stops or if the camera scene is docked open with the scene 95% of the jitter stops

Thank you very much for your detailed investigations. I tried to reproduce this issue using Unity 2018.3.11f1, LWRP 4.10.0 and UMotion Pro 1.17p02 (you can see this in "Help --> About UMotion" in the Clip Editor):

  1. I created an empty Unity project
  2. I imported the LWRP package
  3. I created a LW render pipeline asset and assigned it in the Unity project settings
  4. I changed color space to linear (UMotion seems to tint the scene view in white when in gamma space, I'm working on a fix).
  5. I imported UMotion and opened the example scene
  6. Everything plays correctly, no jitter

That's really strange. May I ask you to .zip that new project you've created and send it to me (I can provide a link to my dropbox, just email me via the email support form)? Maybe there are some settings that are different in my project...

Thank you very much.

Best regards,
