Hi,

I created a very simply "Wave" animation in the UMotion editor. It works great in the editor but after exporting the clip ("Clip1") it doesn't play in the Unity Inspector or in run-time.

The model uses Generic animations.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
thank you very much for your support request.

Make sure that the Animator component used to play the animation clip is located at the same transform that was dragged & dropped into the UMotion Pose Editor for animating (the transform named "Player" in your case). Also when previewing the animation in the Inspector, that "Player" transform needs to be dragged&dropped into the preview window.

Please let me know if that fixes your issue.

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply!

I haven't changed the transform of my Animator component at anytime, everything is at (0,0,0). It is setup with the Animator component on the root transform with the Armature as a child further down the hierarchy.

Also, I have been dragging the same "Player" object from the Scene view (and the "Project" view) into the inspector when trying to preview the animation but the preview still does not work.

The import settings are generic. I have had success with animating Generic Legacy and Humanoid characters but this Generic character isn't working. This particular character even works when edited as a Humanoid (instead of Generic) but the animations imported from Mixamo only work when it is set to Generic.

Hmmm... If you want you can create an empty Unity project that includes just the character, the UMotion Project and the exported animation that doesn't work. You can send it to me via the email support form. Please don't send me your whole project.

This makes it easier for me to further trace down the root cause of this issue.

Best regards,
Peter

Thanks, I moved on to a different model and it has been working. I suspect that my hierarchy might have been a little funny and caused the problem.

Yes the model hierarchy is likely to cause problems of this kind. Glad that it's now working for you with the different model.

Don't hesitate to contact me in the future.

Best regards,
Peter
