asked in Feature Requests by
Hi Peter, great tool, I really like it.

I have 2 feature request, if umotion can already do this, please let me know.

1.Can umotion animate more than one gameobject at the sametime but on different layer?

For example, if I want to animate 2 people doing a synced fighting animation. It would be great if I can have both person on the same timeline, but at different layers. Then allow us to export the animation clip for each layer separately. This would also be very useful for animating a gun in hand as well.

2. can umotion make avatars?  like if I have a humanoid model. I use umotion to add IK to the model. The original avatar does not know this IK were created. So we have to copy fk to ik for the animation to work.

Hi Mark,
thank you very much for your support request.

1.Can umotion animate more than one gameobject at the sametime but on different layer?

You can animate multiple objects from the same animation as long as all objects you animate are a child of the same Animator component. You can separate the animation into different layers of type override, the final animation however will contain the animation data of all animated objects.

For example, if I want to animate 2 people doing a synced fighting animation. It would be great if I can have both person on the same timeline, but at different layers. Then allow us to export the animation clip for each layer separately. This would also be very useful for animating a gun in hand as well.

In that case I recommend using Unity Timeline together with UMotion Pro: https://support.soxware.com/1225/switching-between-figures-and-animations?show=1228#c1228

2. can umotion make avatars?  like if I have a humanoid model. I use umotion to add IK to the model. The original avatar does not know this IK were created. So we have to copy fk to ik for the animation to work.

Can you explain this further, I'm not sure what you mean by avatars in your case? Humanoid avatars need to be created by switching the animation type to "humanoid" in the "Rig" tab of your model's Inspector: https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/ConfiguringtheAvatar.html

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,
Peter
