In the example I want to change the "Value" of that key to say 10...

Notice editing of the key is not possible.

I'd like to understand the logic when you can / cannot edit the value of a key. Thanks!

PS I understand how to do it otherwise.  Basically put the anime at that time point, delete the key, change the character, and then key again!

Hi,
thank you very much for your support request.

You can't edit the values of curves that use Quaternion or Progressive Quaternion Interpolation directly. This is because it requires some strong mathematics background to understand how to change values of Quaternions. More information can be found in this video tutorial that explains the different rotation interpolations UMotion support: UMotion Official Tutorials - (4) Curves & Rotation Modes

PS I understand how to do it otherwise.  Basically put the anime at that time point, delete the key, change the character, and then key again!

Yes that's the correct way to do it, but it's not necessary to delete the key (just create a new one and the old one will be overwritten). Use the "Tool Assistant" (the window in the Scene View) if you want to edit the rotation by a dedicated amount of degrees.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,
Peter

Doh! Ah of course, fantastic.  Thanks for the incredibly prompt response.

(For anyone reading, you could change to euler paradigm, if, that is advisable in the anime in question.)
