I may be mistaken but in Unity 2017 3.1.f.1 "Key selected" doesn't seem to lock in the keys but "Key Dialogue" seems to work

Hi Nicholas,
thanks for reaching out.

This message means that you have done modifications e.g. rotated a bone but haven't created a key frame for that modification. All bones with modifications that aren't keyed are displayed in red. There are several ways how you can create key frames:

  • Key Selected (Shortcut "Enter")
  • Key Dialog
  • Auto Key
  • By selecting a bone and right click on a channel in the "Channels" section of the Pose Editor. Then click on "Key Property" or "Key Selected".
I recommend starting with the more basic video tutorials that explain the UMotion editor and it's basic workflow. You can find all video tutorials in the appropriate chapter in the manual. That's the specific episode of the tutorial series that covers this kind of stuff: Lesson 2 - Pose Editing

I may be mistaken but in Unity 2017 3.1.f.1 "Key selected" doesn't seem to lock in the keys but "Key Dialogue" seems to work

Possibly you haven't keyed everything? Are there bones that are still displayed in red? Please note that "Key Selected" let's you choose what channels of a bone you want to key. If you select a bone, the "Channels" section in the Pose Editor displays the channels that have not keyed modifications in red.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,
Peter
